Well as always home sounds like it is crazy and wild, but i wouldn't
expect anything less! I must apologize for last week though, my email
was total rubbish (ha ha ha English word). I did all of my emailing in
the wrong order, and your letter got crammed at the end. Thats not
right, so I have a new System.....

THEN EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!
Please accept my apologies.
This week has been intense to say the least!!! I will start at the most
important things and then move down the list (I keep a list in my
planner of things that I need to tell people).
The Baptism of Alan Seed!
My first baptism!!!!!!!!! Alan is an incredible man. He is 62 and
he is a little mentally slow. He cannot read or write, but his heart and
character make up for that. He is so funny, and he loves the gospel. I
have truly seen how the gospel can touch someones life, and how it can
change them. The first time we taught him he was all over the place, and
scatter brained. He struggled. But now the lord has touched him mind,
his heart, and his soul. He is an amazing man, one whom I will never
forget. I am adding a picture, but I am sending a package today with two
cards full of pictures. I am sending the package to Heather cause it is
full of stuff for the scrapbook that she is making. I'm sure that she
will let you see it all.
Pres. Uchtdorf!!!!!!!!!!!!
Umm yea I think that I forgot to tell you this, but Pres. Uchtdorf
kinda came to Chorley and spoke to my mission on Monday. Yea he is
pretty much one of the most amazing men on this planet! There is no
wonder why he is a member of the first presidency. He was absolutely
amazing! He talked with such power and emotion and strength. He is a
messenger from the Lord, i have no doubt about that. I have been
struggling with time, and with how slow it seems to be moving, but not
anymore! He answered my hearts deepest questions. He talked directly to
me, and I know that the Lord had a hand in that. His wife is a riot!!!
She was also amazing, and really funny! I shook his hand and met him,
and Pres. Jacobsen told him that I was the best Colorado missionary in
the mission (im the only one). I laughed, it was an amazing day!!!
My Trainer
Elder Garcia is a saint. He is such an example to me, and a help
to me. He works hard, and he always has fun. His catch phrase is, "it
could always be worse." He is helping me so much and i am so grateful
for that.
Clarks Shoes
Clarks is HUGE over here. If I ever need new shoes I am totally set.
Speaking of. I think that I might. I walk everywhere and so my shoes are
already taking a beating. I gained weight in the MTC, but I am walking
it all off each day. My Clarks are actually doing awesome, my Bostonians
are the ones that i am really worried about. E. Garcia says that no
shoes can last the winter here and that i should just be prepared for
that. I want to come home with a pair of ENGLISH shoes though. Hard to
explain, but they are sweet awesome!!
Weird English Things
The common greeting here is "Hiya," im cool with that. I am picking
it up, and thats a cool one. Another common greeting is "ya alright."
This one throws me for a loop. All they are saying is "how are you
doing" but you think that they are trying to pry into your business. I
am getting used to it but its really strange.
Doors over here are funny. The house could be a complete dump, but
the door is really nice!!!I don't understand. I think that the government
helps out a lot over here cause the poorest of people have huge flat
screen TV's. I'm confused!
Food over here is really quite good, im liking it. Kebabs are
amazing!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh i love Kebabs!!!!!!!!
Chorley
Chorley is a nice little town. I would say that its smaller that
Loveland, but bigger than Berthoud. It will be right south of Preston on
the map, north west of Manchester. I am learning the city quite well.
That is important cause there is a good chance that E. Garcia is going
to be transfered. He has been here for 7 1/2 months, and the area is
doing really well so they wont white wash (complete elder change). I am
going to have to know where everything is here soon, but you all know me
i am good at that.
It rains here a lot but I am getting used to that too.
Well I am off. I love you all, and I thank you for all of your support.
I know that the Lord is on my side, and that he is watching over me at
all times. There are so many scriptures that confirm that, and I have
felt that many times. I love bearing my testimony of Joseph Smith. He
was a true prophet of the Lord, and without him we would be know
where!!! I got to see the Joseph Smith movie 2 times in the MTC and it
brings me to tears every time!!!! You are all amazing, stay strong!!!
Love,
Elder Johnson
